2006.06.28Microsoft has officially launched its open source developer website to promote the use of its software engineering technology among the development community.The CodePlex website has been running in a trial beta format since May and has received more than 100,000 visits worldwide. The initial 12 projects being worked on by developers have grown to more than 30.

Google's payment service going for a test this week
2006.06.28Internet search engine giant Google Inc. is set to introduce a test version of its online-payment service as early as this week, The Wall Street Journal reporting, citing people briefed on the situation.To attract customers, Google plans to offer an unspecified rebate to people who make online purchases using the service, known as Gbuy, the Journal said.
Google Forced to Delete Data

Google sells stake in rival Baidu
2006.06.23Google Inc. has sold its roughly 2 percent stake in rival Baidu.com Inc., the market leader in China's Internet Web search market, according to a U.S. regulatory filing."We have disposed of our modest investment in Baidu," Google spokeswoman Debbie Frost confirmed. "It has always been our goal to grow our own successful business in China and we are very focused on that," she said in an e-mailed statement.
New Microsoft release: Windows Live IM service
2006.06.21Microsoft Corp. launched on Monday its newly branded instant messaging system, Windows Live Messenger, the first major release in a wave of online services Microsoft plans to offer to grab a larger share of Web advertising revenue.Windows Live Messenger builds on top of Microsoft's MSN Messenger -- used by 240 million people worldwide -- and offers free PC-to-PC calls, inexpensive calls to ordinary phones from the PC and video conferencing using Web cameras.
Google Pages Used to Host Trojan Horse
2006.06.20Google's Web site hosting service is apparently being used by hackers to try to steal money using a malicious program, a security company said.The Trojan appears to have been noticed before its authors have managed to launch an attack, Websense said. The company has not yet detected e-mails or IM links leading back to the Trojan, which is designed to steal bank details relating to certain financial institutions.
