2006.03.30"For our April IE cumulative security update, we will include the IE ActiveX change in the security update, but we will create a "compatibility patch" (deployed like a hotfix) that allows customers to turn off the change for a limited period of time through the June update cycle (2nd Tuesday in June) to provide time for enterprise customers to resolve compatibility issuess. Global Information Technology Report

2006.03.30Since it was first launched in 2001, the Global Information Technology Report has become a valuable and unique benchmarking tool to determine national ICT strengths and weaknesses, and to evaluate progress. It also highlights the continuing importance of ICT application and development for economic growth.
The Report uses the Networked Readiness Index (NRI), covering a total of 115 economies in 2005-2006, to measure the degree of preparation of a nation or community to participate in and benefit from ICT developments.

Website Sues Google Over Rankings

2006.03.19Google Inc.'s mysterious methods for ranking Web sites came under attack Friday in a lawsuit accusing the online search engine leader of ruining scores of Internet businesses that have been wrongfully banished from its index.
The civil complaint, filed in U.S. District Court in San Jose by KinderStart.com, seeks to be certified as a class action representing the owners of all Web sites blacklisted by Google's Internet-leading search engine since January 2001.

KinderStart, a Norwalk-based Web site devoted to information about children, says it was dropped from Google's index a year ago without warning.

KinderStart alleges Google has engaged in anticompetitive behavior and misled the public by positioning its search engine as an objective source for finding Internet content. The suit seeks unspecified financial damages and a court order that would require Google to change its ways. SEO will get harder.

Microsoft Windows Live Search

2006.03.08Microsoft has released its beta Windows Live Search at http://www.live.com which would replace MSN some times in Summer. It's quite innovative with a lot of new features consolidated. Its screen fit with your computer. In search, you don't have to go from page 1 to page 2 or 3, but streamline down - so basically you may not need to be at #1 or page 1 like traditional SE to get traffic. SEO is changing its face.
