Microsoft debuts its security package: OneCare

2006.05.31The software giant's first security product goes on sale in the US starting June 1st and will become available in other countries over the next 12 months.
The product, dubbed OneCare, rolls anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall programs into one package.

Dell adds Google to it's PCs

2006.05.27High Impact Click Here Deal between the search giant and the PC maker gets Google into new territory. It's a strike against Google rival Microsoft.
Under the deal, millions of Dell PCs will be loaded with the Google toolbar for Web and PC search, along with a co-branded home page, before they're shipped to consumers.

Microsoft introduces the new JPEG rival

2006.05.26The software maker detailed the new image format Wednesday at the Windows Hardware Engineering Conference here. Windows Media Photo will be supported in Windows Vista and also be made available for Windows XP, Bill Crow, program manager for Windows Media Photo said in a presentation.

Microsoft Released Vista Beta 2

2006.05.24Microsoft Corp. released on Tuesday a new test versions of what company co-founder Bill Gates called its three most important products: Windows Vista for desktop computers, Windows for servers and the Office business software suite.

Google's new video ads

2006.05.23Google released today a new ad placement option: video ad. This is a great add to the google network.
The video ad won't start automatically when the pages is loading. The user will have complete control and will have to click on the ad to view it.

Microsoft's Vista PC Requirements

2006.05.20Microsoft has just revealed the strength computers must have to be able to run Vista - the new version of its Windows operating system.
Microsoft has given advice on the basic specs to run the software as well as the higher capabilities, if you actually want to enjoy it.
Also available from Microsoft is a downloadable tool that let you know if your PC will be able to run the system. The requirements are:

Google video is now easier to use 

2006.05.18Google changed the video uploading experience so it is now much easier to use. Up until now you needed special software installed on your computer to be able to upload videos, well now this step is gone. Google is trying to battle the more popular youTube service and upgrading constantly.

New feature from Google: Notebook

2006.05.17Google's Notebook service, which allows web users to store and compile links to web sites, favourites, and snippets of information while browsing, went live last week as a beta.
...Notebook allows access the clippings file via the status bar of the user's browser. Text and images can be saved, along with the domain from which they came. Users will need a Google or Gmail username and password; and Firefox users will need to download version 1.5 of the browser. Its a bit like del.icio.us but I'll bet Google will do it better.
